'Santa buttons'
***
I did this with my children every Christmas when they were little, and this year
had so much fun sitting at the kitchen table with my grandson
stringing 'Santa buttons'
for the birds tree.
It's a little different each year, using what we have. Some years it is popcorn strings and other times cranberry ...
and just like our treats ...it won't take long before it is all gone.
Made lots of cable knit cowls this Christmas
lined with fleece
and a little snip of vintage lace doily & button closure
with some fingerless gloves
{I like to pull these over my regular thin gloves ... they are handy when out with the camera... }
and our "new" tradition ... mouse in the house {our little take on elf on the shelf).
My grandson LOVES mice ... so I made a little grey mouse ... hid him all through the house ...
and listened for squeals of delight when he was spotted ♥
Hope your Christmas was filled with wonderful moments & memories. xo

All is so comforting to see and listen to...
Happy New Year dearest Deb!

There is nothing as fun to hear as squeals of delight form a little one. You are so wonderful Deb, to your family, to your friends, to nature and to dear Archer.
Hugs,
Meredith
Hi Deb... Archer looks adorable in the garden and in his Christmas outfit!... love your garlands for the birds... I hung out seed bells for our birds, along with their usual "buffet"... your cowls and gloves are just beautiful!... it's hard taking photos with gloves on, that's a great idea to wear those over some thinner ones... and your little mouse is so sweet!... I can just picture the excitement when your little grandson spotted him!... xoxo Julie Marie and Tessy
Archer looks so sweet! I'm sure the birds are enjoying their treats. I love your hand knit gifts and the mouse in the house is adorable! Merry Christmas, Deb! xoxo
I love all the things you share and your wonderful treasures.
May 2014 bless us with only the very best. Love Jeanne
Happy New Year Monica ♥
thank you so much Meredith xo
thank you Julie marie ~ your bird buffet sounds wonderful ... we put out the bird seed bells too (and they are always carried away by a squirrel)so I don't think many birds have the chance for even a nibble :-) It never takes very long for everything on the tree to disappear ♥
thank you Lynda ~ Merry Christmas ♥
thank you Jeanne ~ here , here ♥
Happy new year Deb! it's lovely to leave things out for the birds. We are very frosty here today but no snow yet. The cowl looks very snug, it's a nice idea to line them. Love the mouse! Heather x
Happy New Year Heather ♥ The birds get their own little pressies left on the trees too :-)
