The ordinary arts we practice every day at home are of more importance to the soul than their simplicity might suggest ~ Sir Thomas Moore ~

Happy Halloween

We had the most amazing visitor to our garden Saturday {October 29th}

he had been sleeping
but sensing us all looking at him :-)
he woke {albeit ever so slightly}
what an absolute honour it felt to have him in our garden.
I moved between my camera and IPad taking photos
I will forever look at that spot in our garden and remember him sitting there.
such beauty!

a walk to the park in the afternoon with Archer had me heading home with hands full of leaves
Archer enjoying the glorious Saturday weather
dried sunflowers look so beautiful I think
especially since they attract so many birds
who can now enjoy the seeds
a little front porch vignette
wellie boots
leaf roses
I have a vase filled with these leaf roses
because they are addictive & once you start, it is hard to stop
... and our garden Maple is shaking off her leaves so I only need step out my front door to gather more leaves :-)
this pumpkin will come in later this afternoon ~ I always leave one without a face and simply push holes all around the pumpkin {using an apple corer} ... it looks so pretty with a candle inside flickering through the holes.
Archer's costume for welcoming the trick or treaters  to our home tonight

Thankful {things I love} Thursday

Thankful
{things I love}
Thursday
walking paths
even though I often walk the same path daily
there are subtle changes
to be noticed
beauty in all 4 seasons
{this fence looks equally as lovely covered in snow}
sweet friends
little homes
so much beauty
all my dogs have walked these woods  ...
it is a special spot because of that ...
I sense their presence here ♥
nature's artwork
serenity * mindfulness * gratitude * bliss
the silence of nature
is very real.
it surrounds you ...
you can feel it.

3 Labs

Walkies with La La
is a new painting {print available in my Etsy shop}

La La Land ~ a fanciful state or dreamworld ♥

La La Loves her Labs
{she sure does}
This past September marked 10 years of blogging for me!!!
Anyone who has followed me through these years will remember Bentley ~ our first Labrador retriever... and the beginning of a love affair for black Labrador retrievers ♥ And then Ernest, who we adopted when he was 11 years old.  And now, our Archer.
So often we will say how we wished we could have had all 3 together.
Each one had their own distinct personalities {and looks}
Bentley was tall and lean and adored catching a ball at the park.
Ernest was our walker. He loved nothing more than to walk.
Archer is our Velcro dog... our shadow ... he just wants to be with us.

A scrapbook page all about Ben.
 Sweet Bentley xo
Ernest enjoying the sun and leaves from our Maple tree.
Sweet Ernie xo
and our Archer.
Sweet Archer xo
He is your friend
Your partner
Your defender
Your dog
You are his life
His love
His leader
He will be yours
faithful
and true
to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him
to be worthy.

Thankful {things I love} Thursday ...

Early morning walks along the beach
driftwood
watching the waves
finding beach glass
and the prettiest little rocks
to fill our pockets
Thankful for days away like these ♥
