The ordinary arts we practice every day at home are of more importance to the soul than their simplicity might suggest ~ Sir Thomas Moore ~

breakfast time

We never have to listen to the news to find out what the weather forecast is ...
all we need to do is look out the window into the garden ...
the squirrels and birds are the best little weather forecasters ...
and a sure sign of a warm day is to spot this ♥
breakfast time
something for everyone
peanut butter sandwiches to enjoy
& those melt your heart brown eyes ♥
of Archer
"are you looking at me mum"
once the squirrels left,  Jay arrived
almonds are on today's menu
and they were gobbled up quickly
one by one
cuteness
I am able to stand on the deck and take photos of him
he is comfortable with both Archer and I nearby
a light breeze in the garden ... just enough to fluff some feathers
hello beautiful!
and off he went with the very last nut
back to Archer ... looks like he found something to do while I was taking photos :-)
~have a great day~

Springtime at the Suet basket

fresh suet is always a hit in the garden...
we try and have something to please everyone ...
the suet is really there for the Woodpeckers, although they rarely get to it first.
~get in my belly~
it's so funny watching each squirrels "style" of eating ... this little one liked the "shake it in" method :-)
some have actually managed to pull the suet basket from the branch and carried it away in their mouth!  we will find the empty basket somewhere in our garden.

but we can't help but smile when someone  enjoys it THIS much ♥

which is why we have 3 suet baskets hanging in different spots in our garden...
plenty to go around
have you ever seen a Woodpeckers tongue?
this was just a lucky capture sitting by my kitchen window with camera in hand ...
in the Summertime when we are on our back deck the Woodpeckers will come to the suet baskets
hanging in our lilac where we can see them close up
they are such beautiful birds.
Happy Spring

Thankful {things I love} Thursday ...

It felt like 4 seasons in one
on our walk today ...
snowy Wintery patches of snow
with happy Spring welcoming Robins ♥
colours of red and gold berries
little bursts of colour
sweet chickadees
eagerly waiting for outstretched hands holding seed
to nibble
calm blue waters
then a bit further on it began to rain/wet snow
with high  winds
someone had a wonderful home/shelter no matter what the weather :-)

lunch time
with friends
out came the sun
