May day ...

The morning started off rainy, the garden filled with hungry birds and squirrels.
I've been doing a bird count and the number of birds in the garden is thrilling!
We are also seeing lots of different birds like the Flicker that normally don't visit.
Watched the cardinals outside my kitchen window this morning as I baked...
Oatmeal cookies and Oatmeal/molasses scones today.

Never camera shy :-D
I suppose they are all use to seeing me with either the iPad or Nikon up to the window.
They are just so cute!!
Happy with a dish of mixed nuts.
I was hoping the Blue Jays would be able to enjoy more before these guys got wise to what was out.
It didn't take long for the sun to come out.
Everything is looking so alive and fresh.
The month of May ~ rebirth & fresh starts... beginnings
No matter how many beautiful varieties of birds visit our garden,  the Sparrows have and will always have my heart.
The bunnies are back! Yeah!
Not sure if it's because we haven't spotted any coyotes in the neighborhood or lack of cars on the road... either way, I'm so happy to see their return.
Archer and I had one hop across the street as we were out walking early this morning.
Equally exciting... a very large bumble bee was in the garden buzzing around.
Happy month of May
I hope it is filled with many blessings!
Have a wonderful weekend.

So many pretty birds! I think female cardinals are the prettiest of all! That is the most unusual squirrel I've ever seen...but they are all different from one region to another...

Sending hugs, Deb!

hi Jane ~ not sure if it's a different variety of seed that I've been putting out, but birds have been visiting that have never been in the garden before! It's filled with peanuts though which has also appealed to the squirrels, so keeping the feeders full long enough for the birds to get much has been a challenge :-D
Yes, Maxwell :-D has an unusual coat - it's one of many colours!
Have a great day! xo
