the return of the finch
fluttering around our yard ...
a canopy of honeysuckle leaves
atop our pergola
that gets thicker by the day ...
clipped lilac blooms
can be found
everywhere
changes in the garden daily
and always welcomed regulars
I laugh when I hear his squawking ... letting me know a peanut refill is in order
a little baking for this evenings desert
and stirring
and folding
some studio time
with gathered treasures
gratitude
is a memory
of the heart

Oh Deb... your posts are like a magical potion to me... always so soothing, calming, relaxing and beautiful... love your Jay... he must be a cousin to ours who squawks at me for more peanuts!... and your Finch and pergola are so pretty... I also love your spool of twine your daughter gave you... with Lilacs making it even more beautiful!... your paintings are so gorgeous... I am wondering what your dessert is?... much love, xoxo Julie Marie
Lovely ! I picked some of my many Lilacs and put them in a vase in the kitchen and they smell so wonderful ! Thanks for sharing , Have a good week !
Deb...I hope I haven't missed too many posts. I'm on the last day of vacation and then I have a lot of gardening to do. Is that a bluejay? I do not know my birds that well. I can recognize the wrens, they take up home in one of my birdhouses every year. Your paintings are so sweet...from your heart to your hand to your canvas! :)
XO,
Jane
All things I too am grateful for!
It's such a lovely time in the garden right now! Enjoy the changes! xo
I think I can smell the lilacs all the way over here, they are beautiful and so are you my friend.
Meredith
thank you so much Julie marie xo the desert is a little custard/cake square.
I will share the recipe next week - I try not to make it too often as I have a hard time leaving it alone :-)
hello Elaine - I think we all have lilac love going on right now. all our homes must smell amazing ♥
hi jane ~ hope you are having a wonderful vacation!
the jays left our garden for a while so I try to keep the peanut feeder filled so they will stay. of course, as soon as the peanuts go out, the squirrels stay until they are all gone :-)
thank you for your kind comments & stopping by to visit ♥
hello Monique ~ thankful for your visit ♥
hello Lynda ~ the rain made all the difference & now this burst of heat we're experiencing. finding we've lost a lot of plants too ... the winter but especially the ice storm really played havoc. I was hoping my lambs ears would return, but I've lost about 90% of them, and more than half of my honeysuckle vine.
good excuses to visit the nursery I suppose :-) have a wonderful weekend ♥
Meredith ~ the smell really is amazing ~ as soon as I open my kitchen windows in the morning, the aroma of lilac fills the room ♥ thank you for your kind words ...right back at you xo
