Our garden has been filled with happy, hungry, baby birds
especially black birds & of course,
sparrows ♥
they all love the suet baskets and it seems that no sooner is a new block added
it needs to be refilled ...
a metal bird cage has become the perfect peanut feeder
Mr Jay lets me know when it's empty :-)
we only have 1 blue Jay and want to keep him happy!
I've been collecting seeds from the cosmos & scattering it throughout the garden ...
this morning I spotted the most gorgeous Oriole eating the trumpet vine blooms
I hope he returns ...
and earlier in the week the hibiscus bloomed
The August Project

Oh those hydrangeas I spot! I so want to plant a couple of them, but as you know I cannot touch the garden, and will have to arrange a pot garden instead! I want to go to the antique centre one of these days and buy a couple of those cute zinc containers... Will keep you posted :)

Hi Deb... what a beautiful post... your baby Sparrows are so sweet... I love that you scattered Cosmos seeds, those were my sweet little great~grandmothers favorite flower, so I always plant them for her... also love County Living British Edition... sounds like a perfect day you had!... xoxo Julie Marie Hope your Oriole comes back!
Your mid-day repast looks lovely -- and your care of the birds in the area makes me smile!
What a wonderful idea the bird cage filled with peanuts is! I always feel like I might be luring birds to their death if I put out seed and such. Jack the cat is always looking for the next opportunity to pounce! So I enjoy our neighborhood birds from a distance!
I always enjoy your pictures of nature the very most. What a lovely life and how wonderful that you take the time to notice.
I popped over from Meredith' blog.. any friend of hers is a friend of mine. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
What a beautiful blog you have here Deb - means you're a beautiful person!
I popped over from Meredith's place and have become one of your latest followers, and am very happy about it. Love your quotes and excerpts from poems and special passages, thank you for brightening my day!

hi Denise - it seems that if I don't know what to do with something, it becomes a bird feeder :-) hope sweet jack enjoys the birds from a distance too :-)
