August Break Project ~ Day 21 ...

Last weekend I came across 4 beautiful vintage doilies
at a garage sale ...
and turned this one
into a dream catcher
 ♥
1 embroidery hoop
twine
1 doily
embroidery floss
raffia
beads
***
wrap embroidery hoop with twine to completely cover
pull the doily taunt to stretch across hoop,
stitch in place
add strands of raffia and knot beads
Day 21
August Break Project
something old
***
The complete life,
the perfect pattern,
includes old age as well as youth and maturity.
The beauty of the morning and the radiance of noon are good
but it would be a very silly person
who drew the curtains
and turned on the light
in order to shut out the tranquility of the evening.
Old age has its pleasures, which, though different,
are not less than the pleasures of youth.
~W. Somerset Maugham~

Oooh Deb, it turned out just beautiful!... I really am going to try to make one now... where are you going to hang yours?... I just love it, and I am sure you had a relaxing time filled with serenity as you sat outside and created it... xoxo Julie Marie

What a wonderful idea Deb! The doilie looks beautiful as a dream catcher. You have me thinking about all those vintage doilies I have tucked away in drawers ... :)
