The ordinary arts we practice every day at home are of more importance to the soul than their simplicity might suggest ~ Sir Thomas Moore ~

like trees ...

If we surrendered
to Earth's intelligence
we could rise up
rooted
like
trees.
~Rainer Maria Rilke~

There always seems to be a tree that I gravitate too & this particular day it was this amazing Weeping Willow.
Oh the images I could spot ...
Do you see the bird and the owl, the mountain goat  and hare?
Her branches framed the Thames ...

the ducks knew where to rest ...

Happy September!
the time for acorn gathering

I love the quote Deb :)! It's funny, because I spotted a terrier face in the bark of the tree in your photo. I imagine if I looked long enough, I would find an entire zoo in there!
sending hugs...

I am a huge tree fan myself, they are so majestic. I love the acorns, ours are so small here in Florida.
Hugs,
Meredith

These are beautiful pictures! I love all the acorns. They were the symbol on the sign posts along the Pembrokeshire Coastal path my cousin and walked along last September. They will always remind me of that time. I think you were very brave not to run when the swans got close. :-)
