tea break time
a little bread & jam
and sitting with my thoughts
as I write a card for a friend.
I'd been distracted by an unusual singing {I just couldn't place the bird, although I had heard the song before} in the garden and then finally,
when I looked towards the pond, I saw 3 Northern Flickers splashing about under the water fall.

What a lovely way to spend your day dear Deb... funny you would mention the Flickers... today on our walk down the trail, Tessy and I saw two Flickers high up on a telephone pole... I got a pic of one of them... will email it to you later... I love them so!... time to put out my woodpecker seed log!... xoxo Julie Marie

Our Northern Flickers wouldn't dare come to close to the house they are very skittish . Tea my favorite drink in the world nothing like a good cuppa tea . Thanks for sharing , Have a good weekend !
hello Meredith ~ I love a good old fashioned, handwritten letter ♥ have a wonderful weekend xo
hi Julie marie ~ so happy you saw flickers as well. we have a woodpecker seed log also, although the flickers were only interested in the water :-)
hello Monique ~ I always had pretty stationery sets as a teen & remember when "scented" sets were popular and I had strawberry & lemon scented paper :-) I wrote to two pen pals, both in England, my aunt and best friend since childhood. Must ask her if she remembers the paper ♥
hello Elaine ~ agree there is nothing like a good cuppa ♥
Hi Deb,
You have perfected the art of serenity I believe. I love the birdsong going on in my garden this time of the year too. I just wish I could identify them as well as you. I have been working hard to learn more about identifying them this summer and really enjoying it.
Have a wonderful weekend my friend.
hugs from here....
Hi Deb,
I cherish mornings like this, which are an everyday ritual for me; alone at that hour, but accompanied by cheery chirping, and that first cup of creamy coffee! It's when the cicadas begin to buzz, that three becomes a crowd!;)
Lovely post and quote. Thanks for sharing and glad you visited.

hello donna ~ those little quiet moments ... slowing down for a bit ...makes all the difference ♥
I've never seen northern flickers! I had to google them so I could see what one looked like. :)
Getting (or sending!) a handwritten letter is so much nicer than an email. Wish more people would do this.
xo
