The ordinary arts we practice every day at home are of more importance to the soul than their simplicity might suggest ~ Sir Thomas Moore ~

Thankful {things I love} Thursday ...

we've been having gorgeous weather these past few days ...
and met lots of lovely friends on our walk
like the white-breasted nuthatch
who made us laugh pulling out leaves and debris from a tree stump
still patches of snow and ice in various spots ...
I loved seeing the mirrored image of this sweet, content couple
where the snow had melted ♥
the chipmunks were eager to see what I had for them
& look at how wonderfully camouflaged his tail is !
the high point of our walks is always the black capped chickadees
and they were EVERY WHERE

I took the opportunity to take a photo of his gorgeous plumage ♥
we waited our turn leaving the park
& followed the leader : - D

hi Meredith ~ thank you ♥ hugs to you!!

hello Jessica ~ we still get excited when they fly to our hand after years of walking this path ... they seem to be getting tamer as they stay for much longer now. I wish our back yard chickadees would do the same :-)

I love all the spring birds, chickadees are a favorite of mine too, but I've never been lucky enough to have one feed from my hand, how wonderful :)

This is the ultimate happy post!
My favorite little bird, the black cap. Talk about happy!
They are such sweet communicators, aren't they Deb?
I like the story you tell. Especially the last picture and following behind. ;)

hello jenni ~ the chickadees are so sweet and feel quite heavy when they are sitting on your hand for any length of time ~ even though they look tiny :-)

thank you lynn ♥ the black caps really are little talkers ... even though we can't see them, we can always hear their chatter as we walk with seed in our outstretched hands. the swans make us laugh as they will always go into a single file when they spot someone behind them :-)

I'm not sure what I love most about this post ... the chickadees, the swans or the ducks! Your walks are always filled with the most special things. xo

Hi Deb!
Thanks for your visit with me!
Your walk turned out to be quite breath taking!
What lovely little ones you have captured here.
We were welcoming spring when all of a sudden last night brought a few inches of snow!
Have a great week deb!

All my heart,
