Yarn Along ...

A dozen or more granny squares should be all that is needed to finish my "snuggle on the sofa" blanket. Perfect for cuddling, reading stories , and watching Christmas movies.

"Case In Point"

Since it's a Christmas gift, I couldn't leave it out in plain sight :-) so it stays safely hidden in one of my vintage suitcases!
This Christmas is my grand babies 1st so I've taken all the little bits of wool used in sweaters/hats/toys I've made through the year and incorporated them in the blanket to make it more special ♥

The suitcase idea is working out better than I thought and I may just keep it out to hold wool all the time.

It would also be really handy when travelling as I like to bring along something to knit or crochet.

I made a paper sleeve for my knitting needles in some paper from an old knitting magazine I had & folded the bottom over to cover sharp points.

Next on the knitting needles will be making a Black Lab dog from a pattern in this sweet book
KNIT YOUR OWN DOG...

Linking with Yarn Along.

This is so sweet. It will be an heirloom for sure. My DB has one of these that his grandmother made for him.

Ooooooohhhh!!! Thanks for showing it, Deb! It's truly lovely, and looks so warm and cozy.
The vintage suitcase you used is such a wonderful idea too... love that you have your work always ready when you travel.
The tag is adorable too.
Hugs,
Monica xoxo

I love the idea of the suitcase hiding your afghan--I've given up on hiding mine (I've also got a granny going, but I'm afraid if I put it away, it'll quickly get forgotten!!!) And so sweet to incorporate the special yarn.
I have a friend who made a dog from that book--it was a tad fiddly making, but absolutely adorable done!!! Good luck with it!!!

Deb, thank you for visiting my blog, and how glad I am that I have found yours! Truly a woman after my own heart... how I LOVE old suitcases!!!! (am just posting craft fair pics where my table was decorated with my suitcases!) And your blanket is just perfect: I simply love that you have woven in the literal fabric/yarn of your grand babies. I'm adding you to my blog list and looking forward to getting to know you and seeing the progress of that knitted dog!!!!!!
