Purple SandCherry ...

A few weeks ago, while heading to the park with Ernie, camera over my shoulder, I stopped to take some photos of the Purple Sand Cherry in our front garden.
It had recently bloomed and the branches looked so pretty poking through the pickets of our garden fence. I love the way it looks in the Early Spring, full of little pink flowers. The foliage is reddish/purple now but will change to a rich blackish purple closer to Fall which I adore.
Over the weekend we had some heavy winds and petals are all over our pathway like pink confetti :-)
