Lilac ...

Our little lilac bush seems to have been rejuvenated ...
producing more and more blooms ...
that have turned from pale to vibrant ...
I couldn't resist cutting more for inside.

Just now
the lilac is in bloom
all before
my little room;
and in my flower-beds
I think
smile the carnation
and the pink

Walking Meditation ...

The field of dandelions from last week...
all turned to seed.
I kept my eye out for the Zebra Swallowtail ...
but found a lovely Mourning Cloak instead ...
soaking up the warmth of the afternoon sun.
fed the squirrels ...
and the chipmunks ...
who both enjoyed the peanuts :-)

With beauty before me
may I walk
With beauty behind me
may I walk
With beauty above me
may I walk
with beauty below me
may I walk
With beauty all around me
may I walk
Wandering on the trail of beauty
may I walk

Thankful {things I love} Thursday ...

My husband gave me a bouquet of gorgeous yellow roses
for Mother's Day ...
yellow petals scattered on the table as they dried ...
and I am in awe that they are as beautiful {if not more so}
as they were freshly picked ...
Going barefoot & watching the "next generation " of a long line of gardeners
exploring & loving the Earth ♥
When we walk
upon Mother Earth,
we always
plant our feet carefully
because we know
the faces of our
future generations
are looking up at us
from beneath the ground.
We never forget them.

Swallowtail Sunday...

A beautiful day for our hike ...
we walked through fields of dandelions ...
I wanted to make a dandelion chain necklace for Archer but he was so happy to see his buddy Junior who was just finishing his walk.  No time to sit and be measured for a dandelion necklace :-)
The trees were filled with blooms ...
and oh the bees! The woods were alive with the music of birds & bees.
Blissful.
blooms & bokeh ♥
& one little Zebra Swallowtail butterfly who followed us through our ENTIRE hike.

Thankful {things I love} Thursday ...

The lilac are swaying in the wind, brushing the kitchen windows.
I have the windows open so their heavenly scent flows in.
The scent of freshly cut grass & lilac ♥♥
Our little bush is showing it's age, and each year we notice less and less blooms.
So I only snipped a few to bring inside.  Just enough to fill a small jam jar.
tied with a little twine ...

inspiration for a painting :-)
With arms outstretched
I THANK
With heart beating gratefully

Thankful {things I love} Thursday ...

After days of sunshine
and a little bit of rain
it seems as though the changes in the garden
occur overnight
little blossoms have appeared on the purple sand cherry
clusters of tiny ants
are covering the peony ...
slowly, but surely, it won't be long before everything is in bloom!

Sunshine Sunday ...

Gorgeous, sunny Sunday ~ 77 degrees!
Perfect for our Sunday hike.
Beauty found and admired every step of the way ...
and heavenly scents inhaled ...
and colour! ...
even subtle colour ...
and a wonderful fresh water stream for cooling off  that Archer so appreciated...
I had to stand and wait patiently for a few minutes for this bug who was so wonderfully camouflaged.
Each time I approached, he would hide underneath the branch.  Finally, he stopped and allowed me to take his photo.  And what a handsome bug he was :-)
