The ordinary arts we practice every day at home are of more importance to the soul than their simplicity might suggest ~ Sir Thomas Moore ~

in the dew of little things ...

fonts... I love them ♥
experimenting with some today
and adding them to paintings ...
sitting here with my mug of morning tea
birthday flowers are still thriving
looking out the kitchen window
sparrows, juncos and cardinals at the feeders ...
warm popovers
with a little jam
oven door left open to warm the kitchen as I sit & enjoy this little treat ...
quick little sketches
blue and brown and orange
pencils & paint ...
and little dabs of white ink
on flower petals
and tips of wings ...
my sweet boy Archer
following  every step I make in anticipation of my next move ...
hoping it will involve putting on my boots & coat
and taking him for his walk :-)
for in the dew
of little things
the heart finds
its morning
and is
refreshed

Hi Deb... I just love this post and how you are spending your day... Archer looks sooo adorable!... (kisses from Tessy!)... I know I was going to stay off the computer this week and houseclean... but decided to do fun things instead... just made more of your granola!... and did some sketching... my days are very similar to yours many times... your birthday flowers are still so pretty!... your birdie is much better than the one I sketched today!... but I posted him anyway... much love... xoxo Julie Marie

hi Julie Marie - couldn't resist grabbing the camera ...Archer is always only two steps behind me and was quickly taking a drink ... when I left the kitchen he had to follow - water dripping :-) loved your post today! our days are similar ♥

hello steph - thank you! always look forward to the birds building nests in the garden. I put out strands of wool and twine too. With my other labs, I would add their fur after a good brushing, but Archers is very wiry and neither the birds nor squirrels won't touch it :-D

Deb;
I know that look in Archers eyes. I walk the next door neighbors dog each morning. He is sadly an outside dog..even in winter..so when he sees me we walk together...he warms my heart and I'm sure I do the same for his spirit..we toss the ball a bit..so that really warms his body.
lovely post. hugs

Hi Deb, thanks for visiting my blog, I appreciate your comment.
It looks like you've had a wonderful day. Your painting is beautiful, and your sweet boy Archer looks like someone my Molly would like to play with.
Have a great week!

Beautiful Archer, I will take you for a walk. But I am afraid you would be much too warm here. Hugs to you Deb, wishing you a wonderful day.

hi Meredith - thank you ♥ Archer would love that and then a dip in your pool with Max :-) Today when I opened up the kitchen door, a gust of snow came into the kitchen :-) Archer wouldn't leave the deck!!
