The ordinary arts we practice every day at home are of more importance to the soul than their simplicity might suggest ~ Sir Thomas Moore ~

cloud watching ...

Cloud watching ...
so serene and mindful...
centering...
noticing shapes & transformations
as billowing white puffs move ...flow...sway...
I spotted hearts x
"Allow
the wild winds of transformation
to guide you
to your destiny"
~Shikoba~
"How wild it was
to let it be"
~Cheryl Strayed~
"She is the untamed.
She is the wild.
She will come to you
like a storm
and wash you of your tears.
And then
when she leaves
you will wonder how you ever hated the rain"

Morning Mandala

"The power of the world always works in circles,
and everything tries to be round.
The sky is round, and I have heard that the earth is round like a ball,
and so are all the stars.
The wind, in its greatest power, whirls.
Birds make their nest in circles,
for theirs is the same religion as ours ...
Even the seasons form a great circle in their changing
and always come back again to where they were.
The life of a human is a circle from childhood to childhood,
and so it is in everything where power moves"
~Black Elk~
sitting in meditation a few days ago, I placed a lovely smooth piece of beach glass in my hand...
eyes closed,
I let my fingers glide over the glass, moving it about and allowing it flow in my hand as it wished... as it was intended ...
jars and dishes of glass are lovely memories/reminders of all the beach walks I have taken ...
when I come home, I take my time and place each piece of glass out of my gathering bag and on to my coffee table ...
creating a mandala from beach glass was thoroughly soothing and peaceful, mindful and wonderful ...
I think it just may become a new morning/afternoon or evening ritual.

Cover Artist

Thrilled to be the Cover Artist for The Country Register of Michigan
March/April 2018 issue

~I love to take photos of nests all through the year. In the Winter I will stand and study every little weave and twist and turn in awe of such beauty.
And whether found on walks through the woods or in my own backyard filled with eggs {cover photo}  ... each one is a special treasure.

I hear the sparrow's ditty
      Anear my study door;
      A simple song of gladness
      That winter days are o'er;
      My heart is singing with him,
      I love him more and more....
Oh, Spring is surely coming,
      Her couriers fill the air;
      Each morn are new arrivals,
      Each night her ways prepare;
      I scent her fragrant garments,
      Her foot is on the stair.
~John Burroughs (1837–1921), "A March Glee," c.1902
