Thankful {things I love} Thursday ...

A Subtle Magnetism
I believe that there is a subtle magnetism in Nature,
which, if we unconsciously yield to it,
will direct us alright.

Thankful Living: Autumnal Blessings ...

Hello Autumn
My favourite Season
for so many things
like gathering seeds
and pumpkin picking
the flush of colours
and long cool walks
with crisp leaves underfoot
No wonder you have inspired so many to write you a love letter
Delicious Autumn,
my very soul is wedded to it,
and if I were a bird
I would fly about the Earth
seeking the successive Autumn.

Thankful {things I love} Thursday ...

My daughter Kate recently bought me a gorgeous set of  8 place mats and linen napkins.
Knowing Autumn is my favourite season along with the gorgeous warm autumnal colours I gravitate too, the colours are simply stunning.
I've been slowly putting away the Summer décor and bringing out the Autumn {even though we are having another heat wave} and thinking all things Autumnal ~ including Thanksgiving, which for us in Canada is October 12th, so less than a month away.
My paintings have been leaf and pumpkin themed as of late.
Kate and I brought out our Thanksgiving table cloth and added the place mats and napkins the other day to get an idea of the colour scheme our table will have this year.
It gave me an idea :-)
And I soon began to turn four new paintings into "Thankful Tags" for the table.
Each tag measures 4.5" x 3.5" , with a lovely shade of Sparrow brown cardstock on the back, and set with an eyelet in the left hand corner. Sparrow brown and white twisted twine completes each tag. The twine has been left long enough to tie around a napkin.
We'll put a jam jar filled with acorns in the middle of the table and fill the jar with white ink pens
so each family member can write on their place card what they are Thankful for this Thanksgiving ♥

Thankful {things I love} Thursday ...

My son has an eye for finding unusual items and knowing exactly what to do with them.
He has inherited the "junking gene" as well ... and like the rest of us in the family, gravitates to certain things.
He recently found this gorgeous metal tool box and thought of me.
"It looks like something you would like Mum for your studio" he said as he carried this very heavy metal box upstairs for me.
As soon as I saw the drawers and noticed that inside each had been fitted with maple slats to separate the spaces, I thought of my over flowing basket of stamps and stamping ink.
I've added a few items to the outside too :-)
Now all my stamps and inks have there own special  spot ...
stamps I forgot I even had ...
all nicely displayed ...
separated by themes ...
I absolutely love it!!
It has my "Stamp of Approval"
:-)
So thankful for my kind spirited son
for thinking of me
when he found it
Brought out my container of word magnets & decided to make a phrase with random words ...
"make everything with a grateful heart"
~perfect for a Thankful {things I love} Thursday, I'd say ♥~
