Friday's Flowers ...

The pink Hydrangea are in full bloom and competing with the Salvia for space :-)
I will cut some blooms & put them in vases - I have my own little "flower shop" for the next few months and love to make tiny bouquets taking snips here and there from our flower beds. All the Lilies are in bloom ...
And the Yarrow is a gorgeous bright yellow ...
Someone else likes Yellow too ...
&; daisies :-)
& I can't say I blame him ♥

Where Bloggers Create 2nd Annual Blog Party ...

Good Morning!

I participated last year in Karen's wonderful idea "Where Blogger's Create".
We all love" Where Women Create" , and I thought the concept of a blog party where we can share our creative spaces and stories and the "Where Blogger's Create" title was brilliant!
I've written lots of posts before about my little studio on my first blog posted-from-home.
After running out of photo space recently, I started up posted-from-home Part 2. For those who are visiting here for the 1st time, I'll start from the beginning.

Welcome to Sparrow Studio...
Everything is either from garage sales, thrift shops, auctions ... even found freebie curbside treasures ... but the sweetest treasure is my dog Ernest - adopted 6 months ago.
My 11 1/2 year old black lab who is my constant companion & loves the studio as much as I do ♥

Treasure and trinkets fill every little nook and cranny and wall space.
A printers drawer holds my stamp collection { and tiny trinkets}...

A "chandelier" made from a vintage plastic clothes dryer now holds lots of special photos and charms and hangs above my desk ... I only need "look up" to find inspiration ...

You'll find birds in every nook and cranny ...
hidden here & there ...
"Sugared Sparrows" ...
bookcases holding baskets

and books ...

reuse, re purpose and recycle is my motto ...
inspiration...
one of my son's favourite trucks when he was little ...
my studio is filled with special little treasures like this that mean so much to me ...
and inspiration boards to hold some of my sketches and ideas ...
a place to create to my heart's content ...
when ever I wish ...
my large desk was found curbside with a "take me" sign on it ...
The sides drop down - but I find I need the space and keep it fully open :-)
I LOVE photography, and have some of my photos in frames ...
and gifts from my children on shelves ...
My son made this trivet for me in grade school - it sits on my desk holding my many cups of coffee ...
A little painted sign with twigs and a bird nest sits above a closet door ...
My daughter, knowing how much I adore Doris Day, won 2 autographed photos at an animal charity a few years ago for me ...

Inspirational words stamped on a canvas ...

Inspiration ...
A spot to paint, draw, create ...
Eyes of Wonder ...
"Industrial Charm"
What was once an old mechanics light is now a holder for my string :-)
I love creating Inspirational boards...
filling in every little gap with pictures and words ...

I feel very blessed to have my own little spot ...

A room of my own ...
a quiet, peaceful place ...

Thank you for visiting Sparrow Studio ....

and Thank you Karen
for hosting such a wonderful, fun, blog party! I can't wait to visit with you all ♥
Blessings

Reflections from the Garden...

The other day, while sitting on the deck having lunch, we heard lots of movement in the Flowering Pear tree. To our surprise, there were 3 Cedar Waxwings! The first time we spotted the Waxwings was in '08 in our neighbour's garden, but they had not visited ours before. We were thrilled to see them and they have been by constantly since eating berries.
The Yarrow are getting bigger and bigger each day but haven't turned yellow yet. We cut tons of stems each summer and place in galvanized pots around our deck as they are a fantastic mosquito repellent.

The hydrangea are getting bigger each day...
After taking off all the spent Peony blossoms, lots more buds appeared and it is still looking pretty.
The arbours are covered in Clematis...
The Bradford Pear is full of little berries attracting the Cardinals, Robins
and now the Cedar Waxwings :-)
Robin would like to have them all to herself!
We found this nest on our front lawn yesterday morning ...
it looked like a Robin's nest so I had a little peak in
to make sure that there was still a nest tucked in the trumpet vine
and thankfully there is ♥
