Happy Halloween

We had the most amazing visitor to our garden Saturday {October 29th}

he had been sleeping
but sensing us all looking at him :-)
he woke {albeit ever so slightly}
what an absolute honour it felt to have him in our garden.
I moved between my camera and IPad taking photos
I will forever look at that spot in our garden and remember him sitting there.
such beauty!

a walk to the park in the afternoon with Archer had me heading home with hands full of leaves
Archer enjoying the glorious Saturday weather
dried sunflowers look so beautiful I think
especially since they attract so many birds
who can now enjoy the seeds
a little front porch vignette
wellie boots
leaf roses
I have a vase filled with these leaf roses
because they are addictive & once you start, it is hard to stop
... and our garden Maple is shaking off her leaves so I only need step out my front door to gather more leaves :-)
this pumpkin will come in later this afternoon ~ I always leave one without a face and simply push holes all around the pumpkin {using an apple corer} ... it looks so pretty with a candle inside flickering through the holes.
Archer's costume for welcoming the trick or treaters  to our home tonight

Happy Halloween

I think it's so great that you were able to capture such awesome pictures of the owl. I am fascinated by them. As you said, it's an honor to have one so close. Wondering if it is younger or are these owls just smaller? You really have some wonderful photos here, Deb! Thank you.

The pumpkins look great! So glad your guy had a bit of help! Your porch vignette is very cute too. And Archer...he holds a warm place in my heart. He reminds me of Milo in the shot with his eyes shut, facing the sun. They bask in those moments at their age. ;-D

An owl! Kind of looks like a cat...maybe he is trying to blend in? ;-)

Love the leaf roses! What a great idea.

hi Jane ~ thank you ♥ I really did not want to startle him so was cautious of taking too many photos {at the same time I was just so excited and wanted to have at least a few photos} As I was watching him from the kitchen window a pair of Nuthatch were flying around the pergola as well - on my IG account I have a photo with both the owl and nuthatch :-) thank you also for all the Archer love ... hugs to you and Milo xo

What an honor, indeed!!! That Owl.
Didn't you feel so lucky...so curious that this marvelous and spiritual creature chose YOUR tree to rest?
I always think there is way more behind the story of why he came to visit.
I say you are blessed by his/her presence, for sure.
Having a marvelous November! (Kind of freaking me out though that we've not had any snow yet..)
Ah well, I shall enjoy another day with sunshine on my face. :)
