Gemstones & Jays ...

Years  ago, my daughter gave me the gift of these lovely ornamental gemstones along with a small velvet bag filled with beads from Zimbabwe.
Knowing how much I love birds, they reminded her of eggs, so she knew I would love them too ♥
Each gemstone has a tiny little numbered tag so I know their proper name.
With some of the beads
I created bracelets
and a few
found their way nestled into nests
as charms.
I love creating nests ...
be it my own {hOMe}
on paper
and with metal
speaking of nests ...
we have 2 blue jays nesting nearby
over the weekend, we spotted them in our garden
and filled up one of our specialty feeders with nuts
sadly, the squirrels spent more time at the feeder than the poor jays
who only managed to get a few before they were ALL gone
so this morning, as soon as I spotted them in the garden
I gave them a bag of almonds I had :-)
and sat on the deck with my coffee and camera.
To thank me,
they came back and forth until each and every almond was gone,
keeping me laugh with their funny antics
and making me happy with a few photos ♥

I knew you would put these to good use, Deb. What a wonderful gift...your daughter knows you well. It was hard to see the size of the stones until I saw your creations. Very precious!
