Today was the Swan Parade in Stratford, Ontario.
An annual event marking the return of the swans to the Avon River from their Winter quarters.
They marched down the path ... one by one ... and into the river.
We were all smiling from ear to ear just watching their joy!
They each seemed to enjoy the attention as they all turned to look at us as they swam on this glorious Sunday afternoon.
It did not take long to see them pairing up and swimming away from the others.
These two were absolute sweet hearts ♥
pure joy
territories were established and nesting began immediately...
we felt absolutely honored to experience this special day with the swans ♥ xo

This is so awesome, Deb, and you caught some beautiful shots. We have many swans that nest and prefer the bay we are on across the channel of the big lake. Calm waters and lots of weeds, reeds and shallow areas they like. I've caught a few pics of those heart shapes as well, but I'm not, of course, the photographer you are!
