Springtime at the Suet basket

fresh suet is always a hit in the garden...
we try and have something to please everyone ...
the suet is really there for the Woodpeckers, although they rarely get to it first.
~get in my belly~
it's so funny watching each squirrels "style" of eating ... this little one liked the "shake it in" method :-)
some have actually managed to pull the suet basket from the branch and carried it away in their mouth!  we will find the empty basket somewhere in our garden.

but we can't help but smile when someone  enjoys it THIS much ♥

which is why we have 3 suet baskets hanging in different spots in our garden...
plenty to go around
have you ever seen a Woodpeckers tongue?
this was just a lucky capture sitting by my kitchen window with camera in hand ...
in the Summertime when we are on our back deck the Woodpeckers will come to the suet baskets
hanging in our lilac where we can see them close up
they are such beautiful birds.
Happy Spring

I am so glad we don't have to eat like this.

Love the little picture at the end!

Lovely photos ! I have suet cages full of suet to but our squirrels don't bother with them as I have flat feeders full of food for them to and they seem to be quite happy with them . Soon it will be time to take the suet feeders down here as they don't need them in the warmer weather . Thanks for sharing , have a good week ! Happy Spring .

I'm glad to know we aren't the only home providing the squirrels with their meals. :-)

hi Elaine ~ with our squirrels, if there is suet they forget about everything else including peanuts - until poor Jay arrives ... then they want the peanuts :-) Happy Spring ♥
