Horsing around ...

what do you do ...
when you love the peace and tranquility of the country ...
are drawn to the beauty of horses ...
their flowing manes ...
and gentle eyes ...
a city girl with a longing for country living...
well ...
you paint your dreams ♥
The wind of Heaven
is that
which blows between
a horses ears

How beautiful Deb!... your art is always so calming and soothing to me... and I am sure it is to you as well when you paint... and dear Deb... country is also a state of mind as well... I believe you ARE a country girl... you live a country~style life, full of family and home... Nature and gardens... the simple things I love also... and I do live in the country... we are not that much different!... your Nature walks you post look like some of the most beautiful countryside I have ever seen!... and when you capture it in your paintings, it is even more beautiful!... hope you are enjoying nice Spring weather... love your horses and their soft, knowing eyes... xoxo Julie Marie

Oh its lovely. I was just telling my hubby that I am going to begin painting and drawing horses again, like I did in my childhood. I sketched horses daily on everything! I wanted a horse so bad. I have never had one but I rode my Uncles all the time. Beautiful, inspiring quote too.

hello Julie marie ~ I agree ... a state of mind ...we have a spot we love to walk with archer where we pass a field of horses ... they are usually happily grazing but occasionally will look up and watch us from a distance ~ such beauty ♥ it has been raining here all day, but the garden is thankful for it. thank you for your support and lovely comment xo

thank you Kerrie ~ I think most of us have longings for our own horse ♥ maybe sketching & painting is our way of having a little bit of that yearning fulfilled xo

Gorgeous painting and photograph and quote. We a horse riding center across the street from us and I love sounds of the horses especially early in the morning.

Much love and many blessings

Sounds like you've got a tribe of horse lovers here, Deb!
And I'm no different, as you probably know. I absolutely adore horses. I had a couple of horses when I was younger. Nowadays, I get to admire them from across a fence or visit the four wild horse herds here in Wyoming.
How inspiring to see you paint our beloved steed. You are so, so right about those gentle eyes. :)

I really love the colors you used. Also, there is something about that leaf, I just love the mottled colors. Great job Deb!

thanks andrea ~ I was walking along a country lane one day last fall with my husband & we stopped to talk to a horse grazing in the field. As he began walking up towards the fence, I smiled when I saw that a lovely autumnal leaf had landed in his mane ♥
