The ordinary arts we practice every day at home are of more importance to the soul than their simplicity might suggest ~ Sir Thomas Moore ~

Tasha Tudor Day ♥ ...

Joyfully celebrating the life & art of  Tasha Tudor today.  This is my 4th year participating.
A wonderful idea of Clarice @ Storybookwoods
who began the tradition of Celebrating Tasha's Birthday
  (Aug 28 1915 - June 18 2008) with other
bloggers who share a love and respect for Tasha.

I cherish & take joy in  my collection of  children's books written and illustrated by Tasha as well as those written on her life and garden.

Her style of art is such an inspiration to me.
Her love of dogs, nature, and home is evident in her beautiful watercolours.

I always loved the simple knitted shawl Tasha wore around her shoulders & knit one similar.

Tasha's favourite dog was the Corgi ... while mine is the Black Labrador Retriever ♥
My yarn holder and constant companion ...
 I feel a kinship with Tasha ...
loving the company of blossoms everywhere ...
and taking joy in the little things ...

and gathering joy wherever I go ♥
and when I read this quote in my Tasha Tudor's Garden book by Tovah Martin ...
"Her hands are always busy
and her head is forever filled
with dreams"

Dear Deb,

Thank you for your kind words about our Tasha Tudor Birthday Celebration blog post!

How pretty your hollyhocks, bleeding hearts, and other flowers are! Love your crocheted muffetees, reminds us of Peter Rabbit's Mum!

We love the browns, greys, and white in your knitted shawl and how nice to have a "constant companion" whilst knitting and celebrating Tasha Tudor's Birthday!

Happy Tasha Tudor Day with your milk and cookies and Tasha books! There are always new and wonderful things to discover in Tasha's books!

We are Taking so much Joy this memorable day, too!

So glad you visited our blog!

Your friends,
Diane and daughter Sarah at the Corgyncombe Courant

Oh, that's a LOVELY quote too! She was one of a kind... truly authentic and that is inspiring. Lovely photos, Deb.
Have you read about St. Therese of Liseaux? She loved doing small things with great love and joy, just like you, and Tasha xo
