Playing with Paints & Pencils ...

I came across a photo of my daughter, taken around 2001, in a chiffon dress, her waist length hair twisted in an up-do. She had mentioned wanting some art work for her Condo and would I paint something a while ago ... prior to my automobile accident and the issues that resulted from that, painting was a passion of mine. Now, it's more about pacing than passion but I kept thinking about that photo and how much fun it would be to paint it ...

I knew I had some canvas' and a cupboard filled with acrylic paints ...and the desire to create ...

and then ... the paints led to the pencils.

I only needed to look around Sparrow Studio to find a photo of Ernie I loved. We had only adopted him the week before, and there he sat in the garden on a snowy December afternoon wearing what had been Ben's ♥ red jacket. Since Ben weighed 125lbs and Ernie only 52, it hung on him and I had to sew an additional button on the underside of the coat to keep it from slipping on him :-)

I find that I have painted my life-

things happening in my life- without knowing.

Mosaic Monday ...

Still hot and humid
but today
we've had short spouts of rain ...
It stopped long enough to take the camera outside and have a bit of a walk through the garden.
I always change the lens when it rains ... the macro lens goes on ...
You never really know how things will look until you upload your photos ...
although I noticed taking photos of the trumpet vine, that the gap between the lattice on our fence created the loveliest bokeh :-)

and the trumpet vine provided some shelter for ear wigs :-)
Lady bird played a game
of hide & seek with me :-}
as I followed her around as she wove in and out of the vines...
which hung heavily on the fence
with big, full, raindrops...
and then
it started to rain again ...
time to head back inside ...
Happily linking to Mosaic Monday @ dear little red house today ♥

Magical

Then followed that beautiful season... Summer ...
filled was the air
with a dreamy
and
magical
light
and the landscape lay as if

Lazy, Hazy Days of Summer ...

It is HOT!

93 Degrees ... the sound of the pond is so nice ...

but today - we are enjoying the comforts of inside

and

air conditioning :-)

The flowers are well - watered ...
The trumpet-vine is providing some nice shade ...
and covered most of the fence (and some of the hanging baskets too) :-)
Today is one of those Lazy, Hazy, Days of Summer...

Deep Summer
is when
laziness
finds
respectability.
