The ordinary arts we practice every day at home are of more importance to the soul than their simplicity might suggest ~ Sir Thomas Moore ~

Morning Mandala

"The power of the world always works in circles,
and everything tries to be round.
The sky is round, and I have heard that the earth is round like a ball,
and so are all the stars.
The wind, in its greatest power, whirls.
Birds make their nest in circles,
for theirs is the same religion as ours ...
Even the seasons form a great circle in their changing
and always come back again to where they were.
The life of a human is a circle from childhood to childhood,
and so it is in everything where power moves"
~Black Elk~
sitting in meditation a few days ago, I placed a lovely smooth piece of beach glass in my hand...
eyes closed,
I let my fingers glide over the glass, moving it about and allowing it flow in my hand as it wished... as it was intended ...
jars and dishes of glass are lovely memories/reminders of all the beach walks I have taken ...
when I come home, I take my time and place each piece of glass out of my gathering bag and on to my coffee table ...
creating a mandala from beach glass was thoroughly soothing and peaceful, mindful and wonderful ...
I think it just may become a new morning/afternoon or evening ritual.
Happy Spring Equinox
