The ordinary arts we practice every day at home are of more importance to the soul than their simplicity might suggest ~ Sir Thomas Moore ~

breakfast time

We never have to listen to the news to find out what the weather forecast is ...
all we need to do is look out the window into the garden ...
the squirrels and birds are the best little weather forecasters ...
and a sure sign of a warm day is to spot this ♥
breakfast time
something for everyone
peanut butter sandwiches to enjoy
& those melt your heart brown eyes ♥
of Archer
"are you looking at me mum"
once the squirrels left,  Jay arrived
almonds are on today's menu
and they were gobbled up quickly
one by one
cuteness
I am able to stand on the deck and take photos of him
he is comfortable with both Archer and I nearby
a light breeze in the garden ... just enough to fluff some feathers
hello beautiful!
and off he went with the very last nut
back to Archer ... looks like he found something to do while I was taking photos :-)
~have a great day~
♥ d

Yes we do the same thing watch the wild life here to find out what the weather is to be and watch the sky's to , being a former farmer you learn to read the sky's the winds and the smell of the air as well as watch the animals to know what the weather will be ! Lovely photos . Archer has been nosing about in some goodies by the looks of it lol ! Thanks for sharing , have a good week !

hi Elaine ~ so true about the sky and the wind and yes ... the smell :-) Archer is happy the earth is soft enough to do some serious digging! he uncovered quite a few peanuts so the squirrels will have some work to do getting them covered up again! hope you are having a wonderful day ♥ thanks for your visits and lovely comments ~ I truly appreciate them.

Wonderful pictures! I have to confess to checking the weather forecast rather than gauging things by our forest friends. But you've given me something to think about. I'm going to start keeping an eye on them and see if I can pick out their behaviours that go with certain weather patterns.

You really have a good soul keeping all of your sweet critters healthy and happy, Deb. They really count on you! I only see black squirrels on your blog...before you posted them I never knew they existed and I thank you for enlightening me. Jay is very sweet. You have really gotten some great shots of him.

I simply love Archer How old is he now? I've been blogging with you for years and he's always been here with you. Perhaps as old as Milo?

Happy Spring. Tons of rain tonight and some thunder. Cozy! :)

thanks Kristie ~ we've always done this and they are pretty good gauges ... the amount of seed gone is another sure sign :-) today it's rainy and even the squirrels didn't stop by for a nibble ... but there has been tons of bird song in our garden ♥
