The ordinary arts we practice every day at home are of more importance to the soul than their simplicity might suggest ~ Sir Thomas Moore ~

at the heart ♥ of life ...

the weather this past weekend was absolutely gorgeous
and the trees, like magic, turned colour from one weekend to the next...
it was truly breathtaking
birds chirping
and chipmunks ...
the chippies were everywhere
now I know they seem to all look the same :-)
but there are some who have little markings that we recognize
like "Notchie" who has a V on the top of his ear
he loves peanuts!
and back at home while tidying up the garden
noticed the loveliest little heart shaped nibble in the hosta leaves.
Summer ends
and Autumn comes
and he who would have it otherwise
would have high tides always
and a full moon every night;
and thus
he would never know
the rhythms that are at the
of  life

hi Monique,
we have one garden chippie who has a little scar above his eye & another with the biggest nose :-)
they sit and eat their treats on our kitchen window ledge so we sit and watch them!

I always love reading here Deb. You know how to really 'see' life and I love that! It's all about the little things, isn't it?
Your little chippies are darling!

The chipmunks are darling! We have them at the lake. They love the acorns that fall on our patio. They have little homes under the bricks!

Fall looks beautiful in your area. Our leaves are just starting to change. I went back and read your last post. The tarts and pie look so delicious and you had that perfect day to bake! I'm looking forward to it once my hands heal. And thank you for your well wishes...you are so sweet!
